  • the clue is in the name, most people here ride fixed-wheel

  • yeah it was obvious, I know.

  • nice one. thanks.

    registered.

i think its a great initiative.

seeing and hearing london without vehicle noise and danger.

  • yeah....I'm gonna get on the roads early before the crush......last year was fine for the first hour or so when joe-public woke up.

  • You can also just turn up without registering - why should they get my details?

  • d_c You can also just turn up without registering - why should they get my details?

Last year you got sent a reflective bib and bell. Although I never got the bell as they had customs problem when they imported them from China.

  • If I register that I will be escorting 4 under 18s to the event, will I get 4 additional packs for them?

  • I hope it is better than last year's miserable event.

ahahaha! You didn't go last year, did you?

I'll take my chances with the HGVs and buses, thankyouverymuch. At least they can go in something approximating a straight line.

+1 I abandoned riding up from the Peckham feeder thing cos my fellow 'cyclists' were terrifying me. Backward helmets, random swerving/braking moves for no reason putting me in danger.

Then once on the route having to put up with gangs of Xtreme full sus MTBers insisting on racing each other through the crush and taking out peoples back wheels.

  • i think it's a great idea. the only negative thing bout it is the congestion. perhaps lengthen the loop and have more than one 'entertainment' area. if you thought it was sht, then you've missed the point. it's for people who dont otherwise ride into the centre. just be greatful that people made the effort to get on a bike.

oh, if given a choice between a run in with a bad cyclist or and a bad hgv/bus driver, id take the cyclist anytime.

  • It was great. My gf loved it and she doesn't ride much, hates traffic. Doubters have missed the point.

  • Me and henry had a wonderful time distributing spoke cards, haranguing idiot drivers, & meeting Yang. Me (and 4 imaginary under - 18s) will be attending this year. I think i'm going to make a cape out of all the bibs I get.

Maybe i'll get 5 bells too! No-one will ever step in my way again!!

  • make a messenger bag! it'll look good.
I can sew now, and I'm well proud.

  • mongol hordes?

  • I got the feeling the event was pretty badly organised, I never received my bell, and the bibs came half way through the day the event was running. Still the idea is a good one though and some mates went last year. Will probably go.

  • They had way more interest than they expected. I think this is a good thing.
I received all my stuff, so did my gf. My mate only got one of two packs.
It's the first time the event was run. It worked rather well for a debut.
Were you really going to wear your bib or use the bell anyway??

  • Hell yeah every day!

  • I still cry at night over the bell

  • I still cry at night over the bell

Do you want one of mine?

  • Naw, i've got 5 coming in the post for this year's freewheel :)

Mine enjoyed last year's event as well. Already signed up for this one.
