@Aroogah you’ve probably seen this, you’re more deep dive tactics/schemes/breakdowns than I am, but was looking at davante adams raider press conference (old raider allegiance starting to bubble back up “just win baby!!!!”) and this came up in my YouTube feed, adams breaking down releases and routes, which goes back to our conversation about him ageing better than tyreek hill.
Really interesting from a fan perspective in terms of how much goes into getting a receiver open..

10 picks for the Texans.
2 picks in the first, third, fourth and sixth round
1 pick in the second and fifth roundHoping for a better O-line, D line and Secondary alongside more wide out and running back help. Basically, anything not a QB would be a sensible choice.
I suspect that our second first round pick may get traded for a lower pick in the first and a mid round pick next year.

Not sure if I want a better pass or run OLine.
Run makes Mills have more time, Pass stops him dying. Interested to see how we can fuck it up.

AJ Brown? I’ll take that.

Yeah. I think that was a good trade. Also pleased with our haul from trading firsts with you. Lots of good players left in the lower rounds, but chances are we'll package up those 5th/6th round pics for more selections in the 3rd round.
Very pleased with the Stingley selection and Kenyon Green - we need secondary and interior OL so both choices made sense. Really want to see some offensive weapons selections in the next round - a wideout and a running back. We'll probably go wideout D-line or LB instead and pick up a running back in the 3rd or 4th round.
Joke is that AJ Brown wanted out of the AFC South once we selected Stingley.
I think that with the Cowboys being the Cowboys, the Giants in rebuild mode and the Commanders going with Wentz, I would be optimistic about your chances of winning the Division next year.

I'm good at this game. We picked up more secondary help in round 2 and then packaged later round picks to trade up in round 3 for a WR and an ILB. I'm thinking now that we may not draft a RB and look to see who is around in Free Agency. The FA Market will go crazy in the next 2 weeks.
We pick second in the 4th round and that may pretty much be it. The 5th and 6th round picks we have may not yield much in this year given this talent pool. Maybe they'll package 3 of those to get another swing in the 4th round. Lots of teams need picks - the Commanders have 2 picks in the 4th round and might be up for a deal. Same for the Jets (who have had a great draft BTW)

FA running backs have been so historically great for us can’t this being an issue…
Overall though happy with the Texans work but will see how it transfers to the field.

It's the ones we trade Top NFL calibre receivers for that suck.
This off season only highlights how screwed we were by the D Hop trade. Thanks Bill.

pick up a running back in the 3rd or 4th round.
4th round, second overall selection, and we grab an underutilised RB from Florida.
Just waiting on this to happen

So we packaged our 5th and one of our 6th picks to move up to grab an underrated DT out of Stanford: Thomas Booker. Really super happy about that pick. Very, very smart mega brain player with borderline elite physical skills. Our second pick was a tight end taken mostly for his blocking but a capable pass catcher.
We have picked bunch of super tough interior players on both sides of the line, some exciting secondary options, a WR and RB with some upside and TE to open some lanes. Caserio has smashed this draft.
1 pick left near the end of the 6th round. Another IOL or WR would be great. Maybe an old school FB too.

We went OT. Long shot to make the squad, but a Houston native. All the feels.

My goodness the Eagles have had a good offseason. The consensus from a number of sources is that Philly had a top 5 draft. I think you'll win the Division now.
I am going to predict that the Bears end up with the worst record in the league this year.
The UDFA frenzy has started.
One for @cornelius_blackfoot and his Dan Campbell man crush. Detroit have picked up this guy as an UDFA - https://eu.freep.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2022/04/24/zein-obeid-ferris-state-football-survived-war-lebanon-nfl-draft/7416906001/
Same part of Michigan that produced Robert Saleh.

I can see the hard knocks segment now, intercut with news footage of that conflict, photos of the young kids in cramped accommodations..
I don’t know why more NFL teams don’t do this more, find and sign more home town heroes. I know talent is everything, but finding players that are good, maybe not great, who support the team and will go that little bit extra for you, can mean the difference between being average and being good. And if as a team you’re not just paying lip service to the idea of a “team culture” then finding local gems and giving them an opportunity to prove themselves is a must.
I’m all in on this years hard knocks, hoping to see this Detroit team getting back to being close to .500.

After drafting Cam Hayward's brother, the Steelers now have 4 sets of brothers on their team.
That is a bit mind blowing.

One of the nursery dads is American, big bills fan, and I’m thinking of making a trip to the packers with him, any idea on what the cost of tickets will be?

I'd get Jag tickets see them play again. For booing. Obvs.
/csb warning
B & I were surrounded by UK Jags fans when we saw the Texans / Jag at Wembley a few years ago. Some woman with a Scouse accent tried to ask B why he was supporting the Texans. I threw on my loud Texas drawl and set the record straight about family history. She piped down. Everyone else had a laugh at her expense.
The rest of them were awesome and we chatted, they listened to my analysis of the game, B got some spare game flags from the Jags fans and eventually some drum sticks from the Jags drum corps on the way out - despite our Texans hats.
Division rivals, but total class act by their supporters. This is why the NFL > EPL. By a factor of 10,000

Cheers.
I’m going whatever the cost. Expecting to have to pay for hospitality or something but let’s see.
If you can grab an extra ticket then amazing.
