That's a good idea. I'll hit a few shops this weekend and see if anyone will take it on. Thanks.

@onegear05
Was this price quoted for you taking your bike there, and taking it with a freshly cut steerer? If so, fork in hand, cleaned (!) & clearly marked at desired cut should yield cheaper results.#storytime neverforget the time I asked a shop to whack on a bearing race on a fork (with the 2 items in hand, ready to be installed), asked me to come back in 30mins and wanted to charge me £28, because thats what they bill for "headset replacement" eg: you go there with a bike they take out your old headset, they replace it with a new one, and adjust it. RIP

Anyone got a Park Tool BBT-30.4 Bottom Bracket Bearing Tool or similar?
Thinking I should probably do the right thing and use the correct tool instead of smashing the bearing out with a wrench handle.

I do. In Beckenham, south east London if that's any good. I need to find it as we moved house a couple of months ago, but it'll be in the shed somewhere.

Anyone knows manclub who's now deleted his profile and ignoring my messages on WhatsApp.
I know where he works though.
well it's a flat rate no matter how much is being cut. my point was is it worth it for me to take off 15mm for 25quid? hence asking here for cheaper recos because I was wondering if that was the going price.
