Thinking of going to swinley for the first time next month, how are the red trails for a rigid 29er?

really not an issue

You'll still be over-biked ;-)

I’m riding a blue at the moment that would be a triple black diamond at Swinley. You’ll be fine.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks folks.

Starling doing a run of XXL
Interesting. It's not in their sizing chart, but the Murmur is definitely listed as XXL in the order menu

Looks like a normal size 26er

Apologies if this has been answered a thousand times over... I'm looking to get my girlfriend a hardtail MTB. Ideally something that's capable for days out on the singletrack and bridleways of Dorset/Hampshire/Wiltshire. Is there a go to, or does anyone have any recommendations?
LBS is a Trek dealer, and she felt comfortable on a medium frame. But they also recommended a 29er (Trek Marlin).. would 27.5 (Roscoe) not be a better option for a medium frame and someone slightly hesitant off road?

Roscoes are 27.5 plus, so actual tyre diameter will be pretty similar.

I do indeed have and love my Trek Roscoe 7. Very comfortable and fun gateway
drugbike. I'm an off road no0b, having only ever done tracklocross or used my surly straggler, so don't have tons to compare it to (except a brief, joyous ride on @±ln(x) full sus) but genuinely one of the most comfy, fun bikes I own. A joy. I'm 5'9" with looooong legs and ride a M/L if that helps. -

Did someone say Trek?
Srsly tho get a big brand bike; they know what they are doing the bikes are great. I have a procaliber in size small at 5’8”.

• #17748
Why are you recommending a gravel bike tho?

I always get the threads mixed up!

I've long accepted that my bikes are never going to be pretty, but that makes my eyes hurt
I'd be very wary of a big Ti frame. They flex like fuck, crack or need such thick walls instead that they weigh a ton.
