um yep posted in other thread about this thursday polo practise, but I'm flexible on what days we do. Would people like to combine tricks and polo...seems it might make sense, but obviously all depends on what roxy has in mind regards to practise area. Lets all get together face to face on thursday and next tuesday and see what our brilliant female minds can come up with.
and yes really want to get them skids down too -

+1, especially on the skid practice. Venues in mind?

Mixing it up on thursday sounds like a plan. Polo courts on Columbia Rd (not brick lane)? 7ish? Then we can come up with a plan for the future. Spread the word!

puuurrfect, yes and Agata knows all about lights. 7 is great although I may be there earlier as there's no point me going home after work. So this thursday it is then....brilliant

dammit, cant make it for a couple of weeks as i'm in the Caribbean, but defo book me in when i'm back, I'll be there in spirit ladies, albeit on a beach with a beer in my hand...

oooh lucky thing, we''ll get it going regular for when your back

This is done in Chicago too. A ladies only Tricks and Drinks night. It's very successful apparently (though obviously I wasn't allowed along). They use an empty car park that's right next to a bar that has outside seating and heating. It's separate from their polo I believe.

can i post the first sexist comment? because we all know one is coming sooner or later!
-
• #12
Sounds cool and good idea to combine N's trick night with a polo thing as well because they go well together.
Will let someone know.

out, out smelly boys!!! (there's your first sexist comment, ha!) We are perfectly capable of planning this ourselves, though we thank you for your comments.
Chicago's (where I spent my summer) T & D's is reportedly all D's and no T's. The women there do have a cool women-only bike-fix night, which is rad, however! NYC has their own women only night. They also have a bar night that to get in to you must bring or be a bike-riding lady, and in that way, men are welcome. Sounds good too! Anyway, all of these things can be talked about between us chicks.
Thursday? 7? Columbia Road?
I think in the long run tuesday will be a better day as Thursday's will tend to get interrupted by other events. -

I agree with Roxy on the Tuesday/Thursday thing - but if we start it off on Thursdays and mean to change it to Tuesdays in the long run, should we just do it starting from today? Or is that too short notice for everyone?
-
• #15
prob a bit short notice...I know I can't. The girls I chatted with on sunday all loosely agreed on this thursday night to get together. I think tuesdays could be a better day in the long run too, but lets all meet at said time this thursday and we can figure out what the general concensus is on tue v thur.
oohh and dogsballs no sexists comments but if you come dressed as a girl with a pretty dress and pig tails..............well we'll still just laugh at you and not let you in ha ha -

[EDIT: WE MEET Tuesdays 6.30-7pm Royal Oak on Columbia Rd E2 7RG, then onto the basketball courts round the corner, come along and play]
Hey all you Ladies!
I've talked to a bunch of women about making a women-only tricks night. I see that Niki is having similar thoughts as well. Anybody out there interested? It would be a space where women could come and work on tricks, trackstands, skids, whatever... Obviously it would be fixie-centric to begin with (given where I'm posting) but it would be awesome if there were other types of women riders coming down too. Basically come down with no pressure and teach/learn/show-off what you can do on your bike.
I'm thinking tuesday nights around 7. I have an outdoor location in mind but am working on an indoor location for winter.
Who's in?
