@Oliver Schick great to see you cycling past yesterday while I was hanging out looking at Islington's "first low traffic neighbourhood" I hope to get out for more rides, and keep an eye out for future forum drinks!
Well, you know this, but hopefully it won't be a 'low traffic neighbourhood'--whoever cooked up that silly term needs a bit of friendly enlightenment. Traffic is good, it's people getting out and about and doing stuff in the public realm, so let's have loads of walking, cycling, and public transport traffic, as well as people with mobility difficulties being able to drive or to be driven. The sooner we overcome the situation in which 'traffic' to many people means only 'motor traffic', the sooner we'll be able to be as positive about traffic as it deserves.
I agree! Although the common interpretation of this, for now, seems to help get support for such schemes from local people, who want less motorised through-traffic.
Other suggestions welcome - perhaps for another thread, or a new one!
