I'm gonna have a pop at setting a geared time tomorrow. I've got a sniffle, so anything under an hour and I'll be happy.
Plus, I have no fucking clue how to ride a geared bike.

^^it does aid in the purchasing of cycling toys though. life's unfair like that - if you can afford the good stuff you probably don't have the time to ride it, or something.
^orly? up for parking simultaneously, in a 'no drafting, honest guvnor, because you're only cheating yourself' way? -
• #704
oi scoble! are you still heading parkwards tomorrow on that monstrosity? if so, I may head down for a lap or three.
Me too - going to be a kodac moment watching this TT Brompton of Doom 'fly' round the park.
What time are you there?... Ed??.. Hellooooo?!? -

Sure, why not. What time you thinking?

depends on ed to a degree, but probably leave peckham around 12, laps from 1.

I be there, probably 1pm, due to friend's brompton arriving at 11am, and need to do some work on it.
then I'll head over with a helmet that said 'test ride' (borrowed from the shop).
-
• #709
really tempted to do it on my geared old road bike now that it have dual pivot brakes, but still want to try the fickle brompton.
I reckon I probably make 1 hours 10 minutes, optimistic I gather, will be using my phone's GPS, and my stopwatch.

Hope you've got an aero can.... Shit is going to be fast

-
• #711
you know full well it won't be, give it a try and see how you can keep the damn thing straight with tribar.
I now know how Graeme Obree feel with Old Faithful.

1pm it is then. Want to ride in from Peckham, Tom?
-
• #713
Only kidding! Sure you won't have any problem getting something just over the hour mark - just, where you'll be comfortably fast on the flat, the uphills could be a bit of a bitch.
I'll be there (worklessness pending) to cheer you on :) -

Andy, coming from the man who has to draught a car, downhill, to achieve 58kph...
I believe Scoble will be able to get a higher top speed than you with out the shielding from a vehicle.
I had been planning on going to the gym, but may have to come to RP for the 1pm laps session instead.

I was stuck behind the fucker - If I'd had the chance I would have pulled past him
-
• #716
The flat I can easily do, despite 66 gear inches (I think), but the hill might be a bit of a struggle.
-
• #717
Andy, that is not how you explained it on Thursday - something along the lines of "i was racing down the hill in the slipstream of a car in front of me".
This was while you were still of the belief you were doing 6omph in Richmond park.
The Hinata Richmond Park porkies...

I was thinking about this today and that's the time I estimated for your effort too. Means I should lap you just as I'm finishing, I think #fighting talk

yup. Midday at the goose green mini roundabout thingummy? (which is dulwich, I know)

un-jobbed unite! will be good to see you, dj.
I'll probably be doing this fixed now the wind has died down a bit.

but the hill might be a bit of a struggle.
maybe, but considering your Moulton escapades with Dan I don't think it's going to give you any major trouble ;)
-
• #721
Andy, when there are big hill, Dan have to wait for me at the top in the last day when we encounter real hill that make Ditchling look piss easy (and it's the flattest route).
Small wheels are a bitch to climb on, but it doesn't mean it's impossible.

Looks like I might be riding fixed again today, I've practically cut the Boardman's seatpost in half from over zealous tightening.
Oops.

Going to work is seriously impinging on the availability of time to go cycling.
