  • I'd be more worried about the lack of pedals personally..

The bike hadn't been built yet = no chain tension, no tight nuts and stuff, certain death.

  • It'll be fine with a chaintug.

  • i was more looking for 165's
    hit me with a price?
im just about to sell some drum stuff so i will have a bit more money than i first anticipated

    The Track Pros are 165mm with a 49T and price-wise around 175.

  • It'll be fine with a chaintug.

Oh no.. I've just sold the last of mine.. whatever shall I do?

    returns to 10 speed cycling

  • returns to 10 speed cycling with derailleur, aka 'chaintug'

  • BringMeMyChaintug

  • I've aquired some nos sugino BT cranks.

Cant find much info on them, but they are a double chain ring which Im gonna convert, and weigh in at under 700g.

Unfortunately the bcd is 110 so i am limited...

Anyone had use of these before?

    Cheers
    Nick

  • Has no-one used these before?

  • I've never used them, but if you're getting rid of them I'd be interested. Could use some 110 BCD cranks (assuming they're not stupid long).

  • I have a pair in my parts bin, going to use them for a new project. I think they came off an old centurion.

  • Im afraid Im going to keep them, however I may have the email address of the person who I got them from?

He had quite a few NOS...

    They are 110, and 165

And not far off the style of the messenger cranks, there are not many nice rings out there for them unfortunately with them being 110...

  • Just wondered if anyone could tell me if these sugino cranks are any good? or what exactly they are?

I assume they are the most basic they make?

  • I don't think they are Sugino XD as the listing suggests - they look like RD to me? I have the RD on a bike, they are ok

  • I bought a set from the same guy for £25 not so long ago. I think he realised shortly after that he could be getting more for them and started charging more. They are stamped as Sugino XD on the inside. I haven't used them yet but the cranks themselves seem spot on. The chainring is made of tinfoil and completely useless.

    Hope this helps.

  • They look like a Chinese copy from the photo, no idea about in real life.

  • They look cheap. To be honest I wouldn't pay £50 for them.

  • I don't think they are Sugino XD as the listing suggests - they look like RD to me? I have the RD on a bike, they are ok

    They look just like XD.

XD have the hidden 5th spider, as do these.

    RD's have no hidden spider.

If they look like yours, you don't have RD's.

  • I'm having a set of silver Sugino RD's going spare in a week, 48t 3/32" 170mm, hardly used. yours for say £70?

  • Corrected I stand.

  • They are Sugino XD but there are two different types of XD!

One is a triple crank. It gives a chainline of 46-47mm (Goldtec friendly) with a cheapy 107mm UN54 BB and the ring on the inside of the spider. Hubjub sell these.

The other is a double crank. It gives a similar chainline with the ring on the outside of the spider (aesthetically nicer).

I bought a pair of these (in black) from the eBay seller. They took an age to be delivered, but I was very happy with them because they turned out to be the double version, and it looks much better with the ring on the outside.

Another oddity is that the triple will NOT fit a TA 103mm BB. The double will.

  • Hi,

I was wondering is there any reason that my sugino 75 (109) BB wouldn't work on a sugino super mighty crank set(170mm/144bc) ?

    thanks
