Watched Contact for the millionth time tonight, fucking love that movie... Pushes every button...
Brilliant isn't it?
I watched You only live twice and was expecting some light hearted entertainment but just awful in every way.
Watched God Bless America tonight on your say so, great recommendation! I love a good dollop of sick humour.
Roald Dahl screenplay!
Always enjoyed how silly it is
I watched it a few months ago because We Hate Movies did an episode on it. Some very problematic and culturally insensitive scenes but I actually quite enjoyed it apart from that! In a very stupid, over the top way of course.
You only live twice
You only live twice
You take that back. It's the apogee of early era bond films.
It has a volcano, that launches rockets that eat other rockets, in which you get around by monorail! Come on!
I recently watched "Wild Things" because of WHM
I did not have the same experience they did, it is toss.
The first Bond film, that deviated massively from the book. It was originally just about Blofeld encouraging Japanese people to commit suicide.
It's just the best, Carl Sagan was such a boss...
I don't think I've ever seen Contact.
Will watch this evening methinks.
Ha, I tend to pick and choose which ones I actually watch, some of them are fun bad and some are just bad bad.
You're in for a treat!!
So good! Enjoy
Watched 'The Talented Mr.Ripley' last night. One of those movies that I thought I had seen but never got around too. Really enjoyed it, styling and set design is ace, stellar cast too.
Susan George's Twinky. RIP Richard Donner:
Try the French original, Plein Soleil with Alain Delon, miles better.
Ah great, will do
Maybe also check out The American Friend with Dennis Hopper which is another adaptation of a Ripley novel.
Favourite Philip Seymour Hoffman role?
Off the top of my head his part in the otherwise average Charlie Wilson's War was brilliant.
Synecdoche New York, gotta be up there
The Big Lebowski as your name suggests.
He was damn good in Capote.
Always had a soft spot for Scotty, his role in Boogie Nights. The time I watched it in the cinema, the lesbian couple next to me were just heartbroken when he kissed Dirk Diggler and was rejected.
