  • Just had my black, very nearly totally broken in Brooks Team Pro nicked on Silk Street opposite Barbican.

Aside from Brick Lane and London Fields are there any other hotspots I should check tomorrow on the off chance of finding it?

Was thinking the same for mine. What is the success rate for finding stolen parts I wonder (been v lucky in that this has never happened to me until now).

  • Meant to add location was was harringey hackney border between manor house n seven sisters stations.Stamford hill.are there any known organised bike thieves operating in the area?

  • Hi
Specialized Langster Steel 2011 with BLB lockdown pedal straps and a red back tyre stolen from East Dulwich. I know it's a common bike but if anyone sees one that looks similar or is being sold in a dodgy mannor pm me please. Like everyone else on here I'm gutted.
    Cheers

  • My colleagues bike got stolen yesterday from Old Street.
Its a yellow - white - black fade single speed Raleigh.
    This is his description

-It was a yellow/black/white Raleigh with Reynolds 501 tubing.
    -Black Rims
    -Italian Saddle
    -Black straight Handle bar
-there was a dent on the top horizontal tube-towards the headset.

    • Deore brakes
      -Single speed- freewheel hub
-yellow dust cap on rear wheel

this is the only picture he can find

  • Is that the lock he was using?

  • That's considered a lock?

  • A work colleague of mine had her bike stolen today, some time between 10am and 6pm here.
It's a black and purple SE Larger that looks something like this.
If any of you see or know anything, please let me know!

    Thanks!

I know people like to know how bikes are locked when they get nicked. She had it locked with a Kryptonite D (grey one) through the frame and rear wheel and a cable through the front.

That's two bikes from my place of work that have gone missing from there ^ on a Friday afternoon. DO NOT lock your bike there.

  • Trek Allant 20" black hybrid stolen from a schoolyard in Fulham this afternoon, some time after 2pm. Anyone sees it, belongs to my wife. Bastards.

Also, can anyone remind me of the address of that website that aggregates stolen bikes?

  • think you mean this http://bikeshd.co.uk/

  • ^ Yup, thanks.

Massive amount of irony there, with the police car photographed under the bridge ...

Was it locked to one of the bike racks too? Just wondering how it was taken even with such a good lock.

  • Is that the lock he was using?

that's the lock he uses for his helmet. That said, his main one wasn't much better which is why it got snipped. Quite scarey inside actually, it was made up of 5 groups of what looked like brake cables with loads of room inbetween.

Yep. Rumour has it someone has stolen a pair of bolt cutters from Aldgate Fire Station and nicking bikes in the London Bridge area.

  • pinarello dogma stolen today. right by earlsfield station. it's a pinarello dogma 60.1 55cm frame. practically new wheelset. let us know if you see it or parts of it around. thanks.

    campag chorus gruppo
    mavic ksyrium sl wheelset
    fsa finishing kit

  • Ouch.

Where was it stolen from, you never left that locked up outside out of sight did you?

  • not mine. just helping someone out. not sure exactly where it was locked up but he said it's one of the racks near the station out on the street. it was out of sight for about an hr

  • oof - mention it to the guys at Putney Cycles and velosport just in case some mug takes it in

[they have had someone wander in trying to sell a nicked bike without realising it was one of the staffs rides, shutters were dropped and an 'arrangement' was made for return of the bike]

  • someone locked a Dogma up at a tube station? They didn't want to keep the bike yeah?

    Oh no!!
    Poor Rob.

  • Sometime between 11pm last night and 7am this morning, some scumbags managed to get into the communal area behind my flat and took all of the bikes they could from the bike-sheds in the 'secure' yard area at the back. This includes my own beloved Brian Rourke which has been safely carrying me around London for 4 years now.

531 steel bright orange fixed gear, with chop-and-flop bars, blue bar tape, dirty harry bmx brake levers, blue velocity deep-v on the back and a mavic kysrium on the front. Built up with campag headset and BB, and egg-beater pedals (the drive side one is stuck, so I hope that the theives rag their knuckles something terrible trying to get that off).

Here's a picture of the bike during happier times in LFGSS's very own BTOTB:

If you do see it (and let's be honest, there aren't many BR framesets with this kind of 'distinctive' colour), please clothesline whichever fucker is riding it and I will reward you handsomely

  • One can only hope that the Dogma was insured for being locked up outside, unattended. That is a bitter, bitter blow.

  • Wherabouts was this?

I live on Lynton Road in Bermondsey - I think there are a few forumgers who live in the area so be careful with those bikes...
