  • OP could you add a post to the Stolen bikes thread?
    http://www.lfgss.com/thread123.html

  • If you see this bike (or just the frame) please help me recover it. If you have the frame please leave it back where it came from (outside imperial college). Keep the bits, I can replace those but I really want the frame back!

  • Have you reported the theft, Virgin?

Sorry to hear about this. Clearly a well-loved bike.

  • Yes reported to Police.

  • Is there a stolen bike tread? if so let me know, but here are the details. Unfortunately i had both of my wheels stolen off my harry hall this morning from outside YCN on rivington st in shoreditch, around 9:30am.

The rear was a matt black b43, silver spokes laced to a silver BLB track hub. Gum wall panasonic tyre and a continental inner tube (yellow valve cap)

The front was a black campagnolo rim (machined braking surface) silver spokes laced to a silver miche track hub. Also on panasonic gum wall tyre.

If anyone see's these or comes across them on ebay/gum tree/brick lane market etc please contact me on mikelythgoe@hotmail.com or 07891174690. I have filed a police report and really want to catch the bastards!!!
    cheers

Picture is a bit grainy but you get the idea

  • "Is there a stolen bike thread" - Unbelievable!

  • Cheers guys, ill post in there

  • Already merged.

  • Stolen wheels, please help!!!

  • OOPS, Thanks for that

  • Idea: When we see bikes that are clearly stolen for sale on Gumtree, what about a few people going and meeting the seller and having someone covertly take photos of them, then paste them up on the internet and around town? Should be some sort of deterrant.

  • Also, I noticed that straight after I posted up 2 stolen bikes in this thread recently, they were both taken down off Gumtree, which shows that the thieves probably check this website. Might be an idea to make the whole, or at least part of, the forum only available to users who register.

  • It'll never catch on.

  • Stolen wheels, please help!!!

Thelythgoe, I'm sorry to hear about your stolen wheels, but since the bike itself wasn't stolen, I'm guessing that you used a good lock on the bike. Did you use one of the mini locks (Krytonite Fagh Mini or Magnum Plus Mini [Halfords]), and thats why it couldn't fit around the B43 and the frame? I'm trying to work out how it happened, as I too, only have one "good" lock.

  • Yeh i have a kryptonite mini, which it pretty hard to get to fit through the back wheel, i normally have a separate lock for that purpose, but the day it got stolen i didnt have it with me. I lock it up in the same place everyday so for all i know they have been watching it for a while. sucks big time

  • anyone lost a single speed baby pink frame and white deep v's? saw two shifty looking old guys walking it up fulham palace road this morning..

  • Another stolen wheel!

I had my front Mavic Ellipse track wheel, with Continental Anti-Puncture tyre and deep valve Continental tube, stolen from outside the Haggerston on Kingsland Rd, last night at 1am.

They tried to take the back, but it was locked with my Krytonite Mini-D through the frame and to the railing.

Have reported to the police, but if anyone sees it about, then please do not hesitate to PM.

    Cheers, Tom

  • damn that sucks. The Hagerston seems really bad for getting bikes/parts nicked. There should be some kind of warning sign there.

  • Does anyone happen to know any other fixed or single speed forums around the uk? Wanna try and post my bike all over the place. Xx

Dare I say bike radar, I think they have a fg/ss section

There's another really lame one which I thought was called singlespeed something or other, but can't find it.

Let me know if you want me to knock you up a poster/pdf Em.

    Best of luck mate.

  • Thought I saw this bike, next to a young woman, leant against railing opposite that RIDICULOUSLY named pub The Clerk & Well, but it was only out the corner of my eye and could have been any pink bike.

  • So gutted for you. Eyes a peeled. Good luck

  • Well... I had my Goldfinger brake lever stolen 2 days ago on the corner of Kingsland Rd and Old Street... it sucks!

oh FFS you can't even lock that on in any way. there is nothing you can do to avoid people stealing pedals, brakes and handlebars and the like except never locking up outdoors :(
