In broad daylight outside Marks & Spencers someone nicked my pack of facemasks out of my pannier. Must have seen me take one out and put it on. They'll have your shirt off your back.
Hi all, My girlfriend's bike and my bike were stolen today (9-Aug-2020) at around 11 AM in Marylebone on the corner of Wigmore Street & Marylebone Lane.
Her bike is a 49 cm Trek Checkpoint AL 3 black/red.
My bike is a BMC Roadmachine X, size 56cm, al black.
Both bikes are under one month old and are registered on multiple sites and police reports have been filed. There are multiple CCTV cameras facing the bike rack so hopefully the police can recover. If you see these bikes on Gumtree/eBay/FB mktplace, or if you are the one who stole the bikes, please contact me. Even if you stole the bikes i'll pay you off to recover them. We really just want our bikes back - cycling is literally the only fun we've been having post lockdown. Thanks. insta @thejoshbank works, thanks.
-- Pic attahced of the BMC RoadMachine X that was stolen today, per my post above.
Possibly some good new for those recently affected....
If your bike was of no-to-medium value you may get lucky.
In a previous employ one of my occasional tasks was sorting and recording piles of recovered bicycles.
I seriously doubt anything nice ended up in that backyard.
Quality or newer bikes would be immediately flagged and flogged or shipped out of the UK.
I realise this is probably very little use to anyone, but I spotted two guys with a tidy gloss black Pinarello Dogma by Canonbury station about an hour and a half ago and it looked a bit sus.
My beloved Specialized Sequoia (58) was stolen in Limehouse on Sunday :(
It's a sage colour and has a Selle Italia saddle and new continental 5000 tyres.
(That bloke's a bellend, whose twitter account it is)

if anyone has any tips on getting it back and what to do I'd be so grateful! have reported to met police and cycle unit email, but not holding out much hope. any other forums? tried bike shephard but forum error.
quite annoying as it was locked with 2 locks and it's my only transport at the moment during covid times and cant afford to replace it as im a student. luckily i do have some time on my hands to track online!
(50 quid reward as it's my sisters bike and havent told her yet- oops!)
what are the general approaches people take when they see a stolen bike being sold online?
For me it depends on if it’s your own, someone close, or just someone you know.
Hi Hannah, there is some advice on that in the first post here (quite far down):
Hope it helps!
Had my 2016 Blue Specialised Langster street stolen last night (22 August) from Roman Road E3 5LX, London. It has dent on the top of frame from where I crashed. Almost brand new Continental Grand Prix 4 Season tyres.
Appreciate if you could post here if anyone see's it. Bit of long shot. but I love that bike!

Black Triban RC 500 stolen from outside block of flats at the bottom of hither green lane in Lewisham in broad daylight yesterday at around 4.30pm. Helmet, rack and bottle cages including bottles were also taken, as well as the hitch attachment for a Surly Bill trailer. Please message if you’ve seen anything!
Had to stop 4 scrotes stealing a Brompton parked outside Vinegar Yard (London Bridge) yesterday evening. Had some basic tools, four 16 year olds by the looks of it, the one doing the deed wearing day glo and a helmet.
I asked him if it was his bike, and if so just get the key out and undo the lock. If not, fuck off. 2 other members of the public then came and one started filming, and they left.
Not sure what else I could have/should have done?
Anyone else seen this on great eastern street? Spotted yesterday evening... what were they thinking!?
Aborted attempt to steal the lampost?
my guess is @M_V collecting 2" tube sections for next rad build
I've just twigged where this is... and no lie, I've been having to walk past there every day and I said to my girlfriend, prob about three weeks ago(!), there's something dodgy going on there.
it's Middleton road.
Doh, just seen it's mentioned in the prior post. I'll leave
In Knighsbridge yesterday.
