I've just taken my drop brakes off to use my bike at Herne Hill. However I want to get a front calliper brake lever to fit near the stem for the way there and back (tried without any on Saturday and was immediately cut up by a dickhead who didn't know how wide his van was). So has anyone invented the quick release brake lever or do I need to fiddle with allen keys?? Suggestions for a suitable lever welcome?
cane creek/tecktro (made in same factory) cross top lever?
I've got a spare Specialized lever (left-side), it's removable by allen key. But yes, you still need that allen key (better than those you have to slide down the bars though).
For my Lambert I have another set of bars, just undo the front brake and swap the whole bar combo over :)
i got a goldfinger, a shimano brake and alter stem 4 twists of an allen 8mm key and all bits are of, in with the drops and you're on the track
Cheap copy motorcycle brake/clutch levers have split clamps and work just like a mtb lever.
ah thanks man!
after 2 years of looking I still dont think he has found it!
