^I concur.. Suntour always has had a strange appeal to me.. Inventors of the slant parallellogram (I probably spelt this wrong) for derailleurs.. Then the "law of the dialectics of progress", a translation of the dutch saying: "wet van de remmende voorsprong", literally translated "law of delaying lead" which describes the trap of consending with your lead while others innovate and you fall behind, and in this case go bust and be stuck with producing suspension forks..
plus, she's prettiest..

Why would they have opted for weight weenie brakes? I mean I'm sure the complete bike is pretty light, but a steel frameset is hardly an ideal base for a ww bike.

That's nice, the tyres just ruined it massively for me.
seemed like a cheap and easy way to personalised your bike - colourful tyres.

A very wise man once said;
*"if you're bored of that bicycle, you're bored of life".

IMHO a bit wrong interpretation of the law you mentioned and the situation at Suntour.
But somehow you're right. Suntour made some mistakes in strategy and faded away.
Fact is that some Suntour (Superbe, Superbe Pro) parts (just before indexed shifing) were perhaps the best in that certain era. And affordable. And had a fantastic reputation. Especially in US, much more than in EU, where Shmn and Campagnolo were rated No. 1.
And... nothing wrong with producing suspension forks and gear boxes. -

I don't know what that means.
I think it means you need weight weenie brakes in order to ride the Hyderabad Metro
