  • The english looks well built but at the same time a bit wrong. All his bikes just seem overly fanciful.

  • As for the English frame and the forks/clamp there's been an in-depth discussion on this at least once before. It's a skill/show piece not a 'real' bike as such.

So you're saying its porn then ;)

It was just meant to be a reply to the above Rob English post, I just got carried away.

  • Thoughts?

Carbon track frame with a 28 2x rear wheel? My thoughts are that I want one.

  • Rob English seems a little confused which parts of the Union Flag are English.

  • Ha!

  • Nice, nice, nice...

It is definitely in the correct category here, most of the bikes on his website are incredible. The steerer is obviously a silly idea but I doubt presented as a serious one.

  • Wtf?.... Page 819 is nothing but a big Repost. All of it.

  • Seat tube curvature fail. Should have tightened up the angles and followed the line of the rear.

Yes fail, no question. Looks bloody horrible. It's as if someone was trying not to tread on the toes on someone else's patent. Would have been better with straight tubes - someone with more potato skills than me will probably step in at this point.

And cheerio to your knackers on that pink monstrosity set-up.

Oh yes, and the XR2i wheels. No no no no no.

You Sir, you talk out of your arse.
I'd love to hear it from you, proper info to support that
those curves are worse idea than your so said 'perfect line following the rear'...
...sounds like the end of the bell to me.

  • Wtf?.... Page 819 is nothing but a big Repost. All of it.

    And so is this one.

  • I'm still loving (and epic repost) the winter bike with the alfine 8;

(FYI, Alfine 11 fucking rock, a million time better than the 8).

    Hyperlinks or it didn't happen.

  • haven't seen that one before ed, it's fucking awesome

The seatpost is a bit silly too really. But it looks nice.

  • haven't seen that one before ed, it's fucking awesome

    Nah.

It's a winter bike with thin mudguards and no clearance for larger tyres or mudguards that would cover the sides of the tyres.

There's no end to the amount of slush that can stick on to the sidewalls and fly off, and that bike isn't going to do much to stop it happening, but does prevent you from doing anything to stop it happening.

Aside from that point, which undermines it's use during slushy season, it's a lovely bike.

  • Hyperlinks or it didn't happen.

Dude, I know because I posted them all.
    Go to my statistics>Porn>last....6months(?)>all there.

  • The Carlo Carla was posted like 2 days ago......

Nice. But surely it's just 3x better;)

  • That would be the 24.

  • The seatpost is a bit silly too really. But it looks nice.

Yeah - looks ace. I know nothing about welding / brazing - how are those tiny little chainstays joined on at the seat tube, and won't they be liable to break on a mountain bike if you start doing badly landed drop offs (the sort I might do for example... I blew up a pair of Pace forks and snapped the chainstay on a Proflex once :) )

  • That would be the 24.

Yeap. I thought that almost as soon as I posted it.

    1.375 times then :)

  • What..?
    Bamboo

  • WTF have you done to Grandads chair?

    Repost.

the tube would bend or break before those fillet welds, going against the grain but those English bikes are just to quirky for me and dont look particulary well finished

  • On it's way to a new home but someone suggested I post this in here also while I've got the pics:

Never built up Gazelle Champion Mondial A-Frame (Team Frisol Colours)
    Reynolds 531 Tubing
Serial stamped - 3208657 (Have it dated to 1977 based on the serial number)

    Cheers and enjoy!
