Balance, release, photograph (whilst holder keeps out of the frame), and catch the bike before it topples over. After a bit of practice you can easily get the bike to balance for a good 2 secs or so.

^ and remember to make sure the holders shadow is not on the picture

pretty pointless when you can just potatoshop.

And is it worth all that effort for a bike with straight bars.
