I got some CXP 23's for 21 dollah each from Chain Reaction over summer. I'm happy with them for the money.

Hi
Building up a fixed gear from a Red and White Holdsworth frame, don't know the model but can put up pics if you want.
I've got black turbo saddle and black bar tape and black Bontrager GXP crankset.
A lot of black.
So I was looking for opinions from the people who know.
Go and get black deep section rims or stick with just silver alloy classic road rims?
Thanks for your help -

Nah, get a bit of both to complement your build - black classic rims with red stickers on. Ambrosio Excellight. Here's one of mine, waiting for a frame to put it on.

Cheers
I wasn't really sure and couldn't visualise it in my head.
How'd you feel about black rims, not deep section?
I'm only asking because I have little to no experience so don't know how the end result will look -

Well the build I have in mind is a 1987 steel frame so I'm going for a retro-friendly look. So the idea with the wheels is kind of an update on my old Mavic MA40 dark-anodised rims built on silver hubs, with gum wall tyres (I'm using Challenge Forte open tubulars). I don't think deep section rims would be at all appropriate in this case.
I guess it depends on your frame, and obviously personal taste, function, etc. but I kind of think skinny frame tubes / skinny wheels is a good match.
