You seem surprised. I'm a bit surprised that you're surprised - after all *somebody *has to organise these things (and that's why I took it on).

There's no reason why forum users should be disqualified from the job, and the intention of my article was to encourage others.

A good point . All clubs require people to help out in the promotion , organisation and stewarding of races..

Clubman, the sport badly needs a new generation of organisers; some of the "old boys and old girls " are very old. One way might be a system of apprenticeships and mentors.
