How did he manage that? Looked dry and a good surface. Corner didn't look massively tight.

I've only raced a couple of 4th Cats and seen plenty of crashes, usually caused by people trying to dive up the inside or failing to hold their line when it's two/three-abreast.

Good result for your first race.

His pedal/shoe strikes the tarmac. There doesn't seem to be any reason to take the corner so tight or to pedal through it.
