• @sirbikealot - Thanks. I'll give mdcc_tester a pm then. The bearing cap cover on atm adds at least 10mm and is pretty ugly too so it needs replacing.

@BareNecessities - Thanks for the heads up. I had seen it but I'm in two minds about entering. In my experiences, very mixed fields of riders lead to crashes. Last season at HH there was a A,B,C combined scratch race that ended up in disaster with several broken bones. I was riding on the front so came out of it unscathed but having seen a few incidences like that I try to race only with the more experienced riders. I'll definitely come down to spectate though.

    Few little updates:

Purchased a Thomson seat clamp - mostly for aesthetics but the bolt was rounded out on the other one due to my inexperience leading to over tightening of the bolts. I now use a torque wrench however...

Also got a few new carbon spacers as the alloy ones were jarring to look at. This area still doesn't look pleasing though...

Picked up the challenge fortes of PhilPub as well and they look great. Can't wait to have a pair of wheels to put them on!

I spent this afternoon thoroughly cleaning my front mech. Its an older ultegra 6600 one but its not heavy and its dependable so I'm not looking to replace it too soon. It was literally covered in grime so I set about cleaning it up with white spirit, rags and a old toothbrush. The logo was also half worn off so I just took the rest off with wire wool. I'm going to purchase a one of these to fit it to the frame. Reasons: weight, aesthetics, vanity etc...

Probably going to fit the Dura Ace crankset soon but was wondering if there was any point in me greasing the inside the hollow part of the bb?
