• @Philpub - Thanks again for the heads up on bottle cages. PM sent about the tyres.

@sirbikealot - Yeah that's a good point however I don't really intend to race a lot on these wheels. I have limited cash so the idea was to get a nice pair of hand built wheels for the club runs and spring/autumn rides and then next season to invest in some sort of semi deep carbon race wheels.

Your comment did make me realise that I'd probably be better to go for some cheaper heavier built hubs like Ambrosio Zeniths. As to the Spoke/nipple type, I'll decide when the time comes to build them up as It will depend largely on how much money I have at the time.

Also I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on a little aesthetic problem I've run into. A little while back I was doing some night time training and had lost my rear light's bracket before I left the house. In a rush I just wrapped the rear light in electrical tape as a botch job. In retrospect It wasn't the best idea because now my seat post is covered in weird white patches on the post where dirt has stuck to the sticky surface left by the removal of the tape.

It doesn't help that the surface of the Thomson post is ever so slightly ridged (for lack of better word). Any idea on how I might remove this? I tried white spirit on a rag and when that didn't work I tried getting off with some white spirit on an old tooth brush. Any better suggestions?
