England's main concern is the disintegration of the UK and the affect this would have on the UK in a world view.
Personally I would get rid of the monarchy altogether

I don't hear anyone saying that they should be made international pariahs just because they deigned to prefer non-British rule. And nobody was demanding India pay for all the roads and railways and infrastructure left behind after the colonial rape and pillage was over.

I think the rest of the world will just see it as another political development to deal with, I mean it's not so long since the IRA (relating to another part of the UK) was trying to kill the PM and was making news all over the world. Did it reflect badly on the British by reminding everyone of massacres, political opportunism and general shit behaviour? Yes.
