Scotland has a special case within the UK or GB & NI.
Scotland was never militarily conquered by an English (-led) army,
so its institutions, especially legal and education systems were not subsumed into the Westminster model,
unlike Wales,
or going back further the Kingdoms that were united to form 'England'.
The Act of Union came about because of an ill-thought out imperial failure,
in central America, that left Scotland bankrupt.
Scotland negotiated, from a position of weakness, with Westminster,
but maintained an identity denied the Welsh,
or any English region.
With most important legislation emanating rom the EU,
why would Scotland want an extra layer of broadly worthless politicians at Westminster as an intermediary?
If Scots want to leave the Union, good luck to them.
They can do no worse as an independent nation within the EU.
