I think that’s how a French sports journalist would describe our pace on Sunday morning, literally: ‘they were hammering along at a lively pace’. At least that’s how it was with Branwen on the front – doubtless a bit slower when it was my turn.
It was a real pleasure to be in a group of riders, all on fixed, all competent enough to stay together. In fact this is what I hoped to get when I started posting on this forum.
It’s true I did a few turns at the front, but I should mention that this didn’t involve a great deal of extra effort because of the tailwind.
