  • If you have yet to notice, the title of this thread is Bad Traders and what's the problem with profit taking thy holy one? Is there something in the classifieds rules which states profit taking is wrong?

Both ads were up at the same time based on this post: http://www.lfgss.com/post3918167-8.html, get your bloody facts right and the post which started all this was made after the thread was closed. Seller apologised and closed the thread and still gets called out, pretty much against the steps outlined in the first post.

More or less sure we've been arguing the same point, so I'll carry on to see if it helps. The post you linked to is dead but the cached one is an old advert, hence me saying I'm not sure if it was up at the same time and if it contravened any rules, sounds like it was the original ad that it was bought from. The poster did apologise, I've not mentioned them by name so that it's not tied too much to the bad traders thread as I've not said they are a bad trader, I was attempting to say that one bad trade/ attempted bad trade/ against the spirit of the forum trade does not make you a bad trader.
Scilly, who called them out, for discussion incase they were a bad trader had posted and you replied asking if they were a bad trader, I stated that he only said it was a bad trade.

    1. Based on forum etiquette it is bad form but bad trader? There are many on here who buy from jumbles and then sell here for a profit. It takes time and money to get to jumble, clean them and repair them if needed. Bec didn't go to a jumble but just got it off the internet but hey I don't think there is any rules against grabbing a bargain on the bay and then try to flip it on for a profit. It's not like she got something on here for a bargain and then flipped it for a profit elsewhere.
    2. Re: 1.
    3. This is breaking the rules of the forum but to call someone a bad trader for breaking the 'exclusive to this forum' rule, this thread would be littered with such cases. There is also a mod request thread where the 'exclusive to the forum' rule breaker can be more appropriately dealt with >>>>>>>>>> http://www.lfgss.com/thread48164-259.html

    4. Scilly has already said bad trade more than bad trader.

    5. Re 1.

    6. As far as I'm aware they weren't up at the same time so not against that rule.

Isn't someone who does bad trade = bad trader? You drunk otter, go home!

The last thing I quoted was not clear and sounds like you are saying "Isn't someone who does a bad trade a bad trader?". The = makes it sound positive. I then tried to make a few analogies to say this isn't the case, it seems you were doing the same. We've managed to argue the same point for a page or so, I reckon we could get at least another 3 pages out of it, another 1 after that if we make analogies about bleaching courts.
