  • As I said initially, I only posted here because the sales thread was closed before I could post my reply.

As I subsequently said, in light of those vouching for Bec, it seems she is not a bad *trader *per se (someone with a track record of screwing people) and apologised for suggesting otherwise (by posting in this thread).

Whether a "bad trade" necessarily defines someone as a "bad trader" or not is semantics and an aside to the complaint that the frame was being sold for an excessive profit.

Agreed, it is not contrary to any of the forum rules (or any in "real life") to do this and there are no doubt others who regularly trade at a profit.

However it is, by common consent, contrary to the ethos of the forum and anyone doing so runs the risk of being "called out", which does regularly happen.

The Classifieds' rules state "The Classifieds forum is provided to enable members of the community to carry out transactions with other members of the community." and again in the summary "Classifieds are intended to be intra-community.".

From the repeated use of the word "community", it's reasonable to infer that the Classifieds are intended as a platform for "mates' rates" deals.

If, in real life, you tried to rinse a pal and they found out, you would expect them to be pissed-off.

This is the standard by which I trade on here and I know I'm not alone in that. There are plenty of alternatives by which to maximise your return: no doubt others don't, but they have no cause for complaint if this is not welcomed.
