  • IMO the main benefit of matching finishing kit is that it matches more easily. For e.g. if you are choosing two silver components you have better odds of the finish matching.

    I don’t really like Thomson stuff on road bikes. But regardless it seems a bit out of place aesthetically with the classic shape of the Cinelli’s and Nitto. Out of interest why are you purposely speccing a stem that then needs a shim? Why don’t you just use a 26.0mm Thomson?

    Oh and those Nitto lugged stems are grim. The ideal I guess would be to find one of those Nitto aheads in 26.0mm.
