On the quest of getting a new bike (you can read roughly the situation on my other thread) I getting many mixed reports over the "steels" around the bike world.
So, I am used to my Columbus SL. It's, was, a fast responsive frame, comnfortable and slim. An all rounder. I am tyold by many that the Reynolds equivalente is 531 and on other reads I get some info on a steel called Tange Prestige. My dad, brother and a friend or other are throwing titanium into the mix just for the lulz I guess.
There are tons and tons of riders here and in this humongous pool of experience I wanted to get your input on each steel. Advantages, disadvantages, your feel, etc.
The steels in case would be:
Columbus SL (old and new - Niobium I think it's the correct reference for the new)
Reynolds 531 (and others: 631, 725, 853, 953)
Tange Prestige
Titanium (are there diferente alloyes out there? haven't read much on it tbh, so far)
So, who's up for this?
