    Any chance that what it was locked to was interfered with/faulty?

    In hindsight, leaving a £800 bike for 10 hrs was probably a big mistake. If they had a cordless angle grinder doing 30s every 45minutes, it would be fairly discreet and all add up enough to break the Fagh. The armoured cable they could come back for with bolt cutters.

    It sounds unrealistic for broad daylight but Kings Cross security admittedly said that they didn't have anyone patrolling that area at the time because they mainly hang around the car park in the daytime. I guess they're more bothered about earning cash from ticketing cars than they are concerned about actual security of locked bikes.
