  • Right; a week on...

The frame really is excellent. It's very responsive out of the saddle and perfectly comfortable in it. No creaks / rattles etc. Very happy with it.

The brake pads have worn in now and are behaving nicely. There's plenty of modulation and stopping power. The hoods are actually quite nice.... dialing back the stem by 10mm means that they're in line with my Shimano setup on my road bike but because of the larger hoods, I can grip them with my whole hand which makes them feel great when standing on the pedals. The levers themselves are also really nicely shaped.

    Problems:

    • One of the hood covers has split at both the top and bottom... currently no replacements available but awaiting a response from an email to TRP about it.
    • The right hood lever was rattling all over the place. This was fixed with a couple of turns on the lever adjustment bolt at the front of the lever.
    • The TRP website say "carbon blades" on the featurelist. This is bollocks... mine are aluminium.
    • Finally, I probably need to go one tooth smaller on the rear cog. It's a 45/19 at the moment and whilst it feels nice going up hills and starting off, I very quickly top out on the flat.

All in all, 8/10 so far.
