Not a fan of cold setting myself and I know that a few people on here have had Pomps crack on the chain stays too but if you're gonna go that route, I'd go for some kind of bolt in hub for sure. I have two of these running single speed and bolt on fixed, without chain tugs, and they never move, ever! If you are gonna stick with skewers though, Shimano all the way. I use an allen key skewer on the front but they're not man enough for single speed, with track ends, imo.
