Slightly confused by all of this: this is a bus, big thing, made of metal, hurts to be hit by one. The guy on the bike was hit by said bus, but he did this intentionally? So he swerved in front of a bus causing it to emergency stop, the old chap to fall over inside and the cyclist was hit, hurting himself and damaging his bike?
Are we sure that the rider wasn't suicidal? Sounds like it to me. Personally I do my very best to stay away from front end and the back end of any given bus/lorry/milk float if I can possibly manage it.
Don't know, wasn't there, didn't see it but given the nature of buses and the fact few passengers look forward and see the same thing as the driver, I reckon he and the driver know for sure. But as I said, it's a very odd thing to be cycling dangerously in front of a bus.
