^ The harsh ride bit is something of a misnomer - tyres + wheels + saddle will all have a much greater effect. I'd much rather ride my alu Giant Omnium as opposed to my old 531C Raleigh. The only reason I don't do more long rides on it is it has no bottle mounts.
Price wise, although it was a year ago, I got my Omnium on here for £200 F&F, so £90 for some V-Sprint wheels would leave you with £110 for everything else.
