Committed. Iyengar looks appealing, and complimentary to Ashtanga.
I have been doing 5 or 6 yoga classes a week since joining tri yoga. Mainly focusing on postural practice, Iyengar and anusara yoga, as I feel my cardio side should be addressed by cycling.
Posture is improving dramatically. Have been doing both basic and advanced classes, and it has been great at refocusing my practice and such a diverse range of classes has left me feeling reinvigorated about doing yoga.
I'm not into the philosophy/ lifestyle aspect. Just want to be in better shape, hence Ashtanga. Can understand the appeal though.
If youre into Yoga, srsly, everyone should read William Broads book- http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005GG0MKG
herein he observes the science will go 1 of 2 ways,
either it will keep diversifying, meeting contemporary needs marketed to as new formats with new funky, sexy images, and names
or,
it will be acknowledged widely as the most ancient stress management system, and integrated to all public health regimes in the world to bring out the best possibilities through national governing bodies.
