I hardly ever skid on mine, so cannot really provide a view on that.
My rear tyre is a lot more worn than the front, but then I tend to come to a stop at lights with a small stopie- in order to rotate the rear wheel/pedals for optimum track standing, and this inevitably thumps the rear wheel down into a very small skid.
