I did wonder why you were looking so confused at Woodmansterne when we went left instead of right - I didn't even know you could go right! FWIW that left turn is Rectory Lane and it's the road I take when I come back from Box Hill if I'm riding alone. Nice little climb before things level out again as you approach South London.
