Yes....but it is a long story.....Brooks repaired it....in their opinion it was badly tensioned by its owner.....brooks were marvellous...free of charge.
This is what the seller said to me at the end.....please note i paid £110 for the saddle
'The saddle has been sorted. I have transferred the £30 to you.
One point which you should bear in mind in future. When you buy second hand goods, do not expect them to be new.
I really wish I did not stumble on your wanted ad. This is my sole bad experience on this forum having sold full bikes and parts much more expensive. Never have I had any sort of comeback. My descriptions have always been accurate and honest and I always compile pictures so that potential buyers can see what they are getting. I will not change my descriptions and pictures but I think I will sell only in person in future. I thought that you could see what you were getting and you agreed to this.
Anyway, you have a great saddle for throw away money. Well done.'
There was no apology...no admitting the saddle was [and to a certain extent still defective....flared skirts].......£90 is not throw away money to me...plus it cost me money to send it to Brooks for repair.......As for his pictures....they did not tell the whole story and his assertion that he did not know the saddle was twisted was and is ludicrous....in extremis!
The sellers name?.....c4shr and am debating with myself...shall i put him on the bad trader thread?
