Well, thought I'd give you lot a chance on this before I decide to keep this fugger.
My Specialized Globe Expert, absolutely mint condition throughout and fully cleaned, I've been keeping this back as a replacement for my Pro variant as it is slightly bigger and in reality more my size with regard to the issues I have in my shoulders/hands but having made modifications and bought a new stem/longer post for the Pro I'm letting this go. Have used it a few times on summer rides and on occasion when stripping down the pro for a full clean so this is very lightly used, not a mark on the frame or forks anywhere.
Labelled as a 58 the actual c-t is 55cm but an effective 60cm c-t (as if the uppermost point were in line horizontally to the centre of the top tube/head tube intersection), the effective top tube length is about 59cm but doesn't feel massively long but the front end is pretty high up so excellent for those with shoulder problems and indeed those well over 6ft. With the 400mm Deus post at its highest it will go to about 45" from floor to rails, the bars are currently 41" from the floor.
I'm 5ft 11 with 32.5" inside leg and can ride this easily. I had got it mainly due to shoulder injuries that will only get worse and with the front end being higher than my current Globe this would alleviate the problem but I solved it..just
I'm including brand new double sided spd pedals & cleats, new Tortec pannier rack, wireless computer, front & rear LED lights, excellent Specialized alloy frame fit pump, saddle bag with tools, basically everything you need to get straight on the road. The toe clips and straps are shown in lieu of the spd's for test ride purposes only.
These are super rock solid bikes, my pro has take me on thousands of miles in all weathers for the last 5 years without missing a beat. Audax, commuting, touring, club runs, it'll do it all. Despite being a big robust old sod it isn't very heavy, (with guards/pump/lights & the heavy pedals she is circa 11kg) it'll get you up mountains and descend at a decent pace too with the right tyres, 45mph down the twisty stuff in the alps is something else with pannier bags on..lol
The only atual difference between the Expert and the Pro is that the rear derailleur is an LX (rather than XT) and the gear shifters are Deore as opposed to LX on the Pro. I've upgraded the bars to a new lightweight full carbon bar and a lightweight ITM millenium stem though I can swap them back for the original risers and oversized stem
The gearing covers pretty much everything you'll need as a commuter and a tourist. The rims will take virtually any tyre size from a 45 down to about a 25mm so you can ride trails/tarmac/snow, pretty much anything. The 42mm tyres fit snugly under the guards, anything bigger would require wider which can be accommodated by the frame
