Tufo tape is the business no matter what Edward "the olden days" Z says. I've run it, read many reports on it, and it is conclusively safe. And whether or not its easier to mount is a personal preference, but spending two days faffing around with layers of glue and paint brushes vs sticking a nice tidy piece of tape on is a no contest for me.
And getting the tyre seated and centered properly has an infinite time limit, as opposed to glue which starts setting very quickly and becomes immovable.
