I don't agree. I hate tape. I tried it many years ago and found it to be much more effort than rim cement. It might be more idiot proof than rim cement but "idiots" are best served anyway by clinchers.
Rim cement works better, allows for much better tire positioning and tends to be safer. With rim cement I can tailor the bond to my application.
Just spend some time and learn how to use rim cement...
