Recently purchased a path frame so I'm building up a wet-weather (er, winter) bike. Brake drop on the front is pretty large and I would like to run 35mm tyres so I'm thinking about running cantilever brakes.

How much is it likely to cost to have a pair of bosses brazed on? Would a new fork be a better bet? Axle to crown is a fairly standard 400mm so finding a threaded 1" touring fork shouldn't be too much of a problem.

A much cheaper option would be just to get a set of deep drop calipers.
You can find monsters up to 8 cm drop pretty easily.
