But religion is not open to the possibility of being wrong. Belief in God is unfalsifiable. the idea that you can heal someone through prayer cannot be tested. I dont take a moral stand on religion, I dont mind what people believe, but it is based on faith, not observable evidence.

It can be tested and HAS been in an extensive double-blind test of 1,800 heart transplant patients.

1/3 were prayed for (in secret)
1/3 were not prayed for and kept ignorant of that fact.
The final 1/3 WERE prayed for and made aware of that fact.

In the first 2 groups there was absolutely no difference in the success rates of the surgery, whereas the last group actually experienced a greater number of complications due to what's been described as the "performing under stress" or something similar.

So in proven documented testing, Prayer is actually more likely to be detrimental than of any help whatsoever. Therefore nobody can claim that the belief in prayer is harmless.
