It could be harmful for you to have these beliefs, for example if a truck were heading your way and you decide to turn to the power of prayer rather than getting up and moving out of the way.

I suppose I meant that it is harmless to us for him to have these beliefs. Possibly irritating and patronising, but harmless. There are people who will leap upon this thread as an excuse for a self righteous rant, which I find equally irritating.
