Kind of on topic, turning old car bits into bikes. Sounds like a good start.
Also, having not read the entire thread, would it be possible to construct BB's and hubs and all bearing assemblies to be flexible in bearing size or even use bushings and all fixtures done with wing nut style nuts? No ideas about wheels, but you'd really want to keep pneumatic somehow.
