Anybody here uses an independent optician? If so, can you recommend? What are the prices and services like? Basically I need extra thin lenses as I am practically blind without glasses, so it doesn't make sense to get a £20 worth of frame to go with them expensive lenses. I have come to teams with it since a very young age... 8-(
So as the story goes... Vision Express wants to charge me close to £300 for a new pair, that is with 30% student discount. Specsavers wants just over half of that, 25% discount included. I have found frames from both that I would be happy with, but the point is if I am to spend that much money, why not an independent one?
My current pair is coming up to 10 years old, so I am totally out of touch with where to get good glasses etc.
Any advice appreciated. 8-)
