OK, so "caveat emptor" and all that, but this is LFGSS and not Brick Lane Bikes and despite saying that you would correct your ad, it still significantly misrepresents the facts.
The only groupset component on your bike that could be from 1996 is the seatpost, so calling it a "Full 1996ish era Campagnolo Chorus/Athena Groupset" is far from accurate.
The brakes are definitely not Monoplaners, they are Athena D500 and no later than 1993. They are not "fitted with original brake pad guides", they are fitted with 1st gen. Chorus brake pad holders and cable adjusters.
The cranks (Chorus) date from between 1988 and 1991.
The front derailleur is either Chorus ('91-'94) or Athena ('94) and the rear is 1993 Athena and definitely not Chorus.
Identifying C-Record era components can be a nightmare and I'm sorry that someone took advantage of you, but trying to cover your losses by passing the problem on is bang out of order.
Hey scilly, to be fair you make some good points and I rate your campy knowledge (like a bird twitcher for bike parts) but having watched this thread with interest as I'm after a few bits and have bought off skateboy before, can you leave this thread open for people with genuine interest and and advice, not clog it up with 'holier than thou' comments like this second post of yours? Lfgss is a sick forum so let's keep it that way, and stop the I know better than you nonsense. Every day's a school day/not every teacher needs to laud it.
