I remember my grandfathers vaguely, but my grannies lived a lot longer so I recall them.
My dad's mum had alzheimers, although we didn't call it that then.
Last time I saw her I went with my cousin, and we had a great time explaining that I was her grandson, not my cousin's new boyfriend.
My mums mum lived till she was 102. When my mum went to help sort out the funeral she got in a taxi, and the taxi driver mentioned her having just died saying that she lived so long because she had a wee dram every day.
My mother told him that she was her daughter and her mother had never touched a drop in all her life.
