I'd guess the lips are deeper so they hook in more and have to work harder to pop off(?)... if that makes any sense.
Not really plane English is it.
Just noticed that they have an off-centre one now. Which is useful to know for road wheels... and I guess even better for cx if people are using them on 135mm hubs.
