• So... I've decided to actually get around to building my new wheelset as my xmas present. The question is whether I stick to my planned self-build, BHS C472w on BHS superlights:

    20h/28h
    28mm x 23mm rim
    Sapim Lazers
    Price (ex delivery): $284.40 / £177.55
    Weight: 1,498g

Or go for the 3t's for £300.

    3t's pros:

    • no building faff
    • no delays (ie dithering/excuses)
    • "Guaranteed" quality(?)
    • Look cool
    • More depth/stiffer(?)

    3t's cons:

    • +£100
    • +400g
    • Less wheelbuilding practice (particularly as this would be my first low count/fancy spoke build)

Thoughts? As I'm struggling to make my mind up on this and just going back and forth.

My motivation stems from wanting to replace my garish white and red wheelset. Added to that I'm sold on the wider rim tech so it seems like a good move.
