I absolutely fucking detest 'in terms of'. I scream inwardly (inwardly scream - discuss) every time I hear it used. It's so fucking lazy and sounds absolutely stupid. Why can't people think for a moment before rushing off into a sentence that requires this hideous rubbish.
Perhaps this is too much of a controversy (CONtroversy - let's get into pronunciation)
I do really hate this, too. I had a boss a few years ago who would use it at the beginning of almost every sentence. We used to call her "Intermsof" because she just could not stop saying it.
I sometimes catch myself saying it due to over-exposure to the phrase, and need to stop short with the words already coming out of my mouth while I patch in a replacement. Horrible stuff.
